Maria Bhavan, Bengaluru: Month of October is a great joy for all us for the following reasons. First of all, this is a month which is dedicated to Our Lady of Rosary. Secondly this month is the Extraordinary Missionary Month declared by Pope Francis. Thirdly India is going to have one more Missionary Saint on 13th October 2019 that is Blessed Mariam Thresia from Kerala, so it is a joyous and a festive moment for our Country.
On the 3rd of October we had a special Rosary in our formation house (Maria Bhavan) since this month is dedicated to Our Lady of Rosary, the request came from the President of Dharmaram Zone (CRI) and we were happy to conduct the Rosary in our auditorium for the communities which belong to Dharmaram Zone. This special Rosary was organised through the power point presentation by our scholastics it went on well where we had the opportunity to organize the Montfortian method of Rosary. Our founder Fr de Montfort loved the Rosary so much in his life and also in his Mission. I remember the famous quotation of Montfort that is “Never will anyone who says the Rosary will be led astray.” Let us love the Rosary particularly this month and recite it with faith, humility and confidence like our founder. The participants who came to attend the Rosary in our house were happy to attend the Montfortian method of Rosary and also to know Marian Spirituality.
Secondly Pope Francis declared this month as the Extraordinary Missionary Month in order to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the first Missionary Encyclical that is Maximum illud which was published in the year 1919 by Pope Benedict the XV it was a famous Encyclical. As Montfortians, how to live out this Extraordinary Missionary Month in our apostolate?
1. A personal encounter with Jesus Christ like the three Magi
2. To get the inspiration from the Missionary Saints around the world.
3. To study and to value the Vatican Document that is Missio ad Gentes in the formations houses which deal the Human, Spiritual, Biblical, Theological and Catechetical merits.
4. Missionary charity.
May the Month of Rosary and the Extraordinary Missionary Month inspire us and let our consecrated life in our mission transform the world.
