Guru Mandir, Mysore: The anticipated two days Inter-Community gathering entitled “Montfort Yuva-Milana” was held at Guru Mandir community, Mysore. The theme was “United, Connected and to be Rooted in the Spirit of Fr de Montfort.” It was indeed a Spirit flowed gathering where all the formation communities had come together with the purpose of knowing each other and to experience the family atmosphere. The program was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. J. Joseph, the Vicar of Indian Province on the 19th of October and his inaugural address was enriching us. For the success of this programme, many young priests had worked tirelessly, and we are grateful to them especially to Fr. Prem, Fr. Jason, Fr. Deepak and Fr. Amalraj who had planned meticulously to execute this program in a successful way.
We were altogether 87 and were divided into four groups with the mentors. It was a good opportunity for all of us to actively take part in it. We were not encouraged to be an individual rather in groups to know, mingle with each other and to have the team spirit. Of course, we did and experience teamwork in various activities what were organized especially sports, cultural program, quiz, art competition etc. As Montfortians we also had special Rosary with candle procession followed by Mass at the new Grotto where Fr. Selvakumar preceded the Mass with a good reflection.
On the final day we had grand cultural program by various groups followed by prize distribution and then we had our closing ceremony which was on 21st evening. Fr. Amalraj gave a vote of thanks where he thanked the Provincial Fr. Michael Sahayaraj, his team and all the Fathers. At the end of the program, we had an critical evaluation. We thank God for this opportunity and we are grateful to all Fathers who sent us to participate in this event.
