30th, January, Saturday
I.    Heb 11: 1-2, 8-19
II.  Mk 4: 35-41
When I read this passage and reflect on experiences in my own life, I understand that God is asking us to really believe, trust and have faith. His power is not limited to the Old Testament. God is still alive today, doing big things in ordinary lives. He might ask us to make sacrifices, but it is not so that we may suffer but it is so that we might live according to His will.
Let's take a look at our life today. It may be something good when God is asking us to give up. so, God can do something great.
Can we remember a time in your life when you experienced a furious storm?  It may have been a death of a loved ones, the loss of a job, financial difficulties, or a life-threatening medical condition. How did we respond to this situation?  Did we trust Jesus?  Or did we react as the disciples did to the storm at sea: with fear and trembling?  Did we lose faith in God and Jesus?  During painful and difficult times, it is natural to question Jesus.  Yet, we need Jesus especially during the confusing and frightening times in our life.
Jesus wants us to cry out to him and Jesus will respond to our need, our pain and our fear.  Most likely, the situation will not immediately be resolved, but Jesus will strengthen us and walk with us each and every day.  He will not abandon us.  One day, the sun will shine again.
